Before striving for more success, sometimes it is important to pause and check in. This applies to all of us. So, what should we check in our daily lives?
Why Daily Check-ins are Important
Our lives are very busy. Days pass by quickly, and we easily miss important things amidst the hustle. For instance, there is someone who usually focuses on journaling. One weekend night, lying on their bedside, they reflected on what they had focused on throughout the week. The most important thing they realized was the need to study for the future, but this was always pushed to the backburner.
Their first goal was to research and study more in the field of writing to increase their value. The second goal was to analyze real estate auctions and repeatedly visit and bid to pave the way to becoming wealthy. However, they kept delaying their studies, easing their fears amid their busy schedule. Time spent being busy but unproductive is fatal. When they realized this, they felt uneasy.
The Big Impact of Small Actions
They packed a book, a notebook, and a pen in their bag to go for a morning workout. They considered reading at home but eventually found a café they liked. With an iced café latte, meditation music, a book, a notebook, and a pen prepared on the table, they began to delve into the book leisurely. Each sentence felt vivid, and they shared parts that resonated with them at that moment.
Making money is important, but even more important is where you focus your awareness. While working to become wealthy, they explored their current thoughts about wealth and checked if it was flowing in a healthy direction. They wanted to become wealthy but realized deep in their subconscious they were afraid of becoming wealthy. They feared that with more money, more responsibility would come, and life would be harder.
Changing the Subconscious
No matter how hard you work with a negative subconscious, it is difficult to become wealthy. It is necessary to massage and check the direction of the subconscious. To force something into the subconscious, you need to enjoy it. For example, singing a favorite player’s cheer song passionately at a baseball game led to humming it before bed and the next day. When you visualize your wealthy self, that picture should be happy. Bob Proctor also said, “We need to internalize this thought and put emotion into it.”
Concrete Actions for Success
Success is not achieved by words alone. For example, even if you are teaching about writing, apart from helping others, your own study and research traces must be visible. Research more about the necessary capabilities to write well, such as thinking well and telling stories logically, and apply them in practice. Consistently upload the results on a blog or social media. Readers should also think about what they need to prove and find habits to lead by example.
New Goals and Practices
They had been gradually improving their life for a while. This led to meeting various situations and people, gaining more momentum. Taking responsibility, living a regular life, exercising, reading, meditating, and more. For over 80 days now, they have been working out at the gym at 7 AM. They started writing gradually and signed up for lectures by their favorite authors, feeling a growing urge to move more. Their attitude towards life is changing bit by bit.
Conclusion
For over a year, they had no goals. However, with a consistent change in attitude, two goals emerged. To achieve these, they felt it necessary to avoid impulsive reactions, eat healthy, stay humble, study diligently, and send encouraging comments and greetings to people around them.
